KSOU follows a two-level eligibility structure for MA admissions, based on your bachelor’s degree background.

Level 1: Those students who have passed their three-year bachelor’s degree without having studied the same (cognate) subject at the undergraduates level are also eligible for applying. But these candidates should pass the Master’s Preparatory Programme (MPP) test which is organized by the KSOU. This is not applicable to MA Journalism & Mass Communication.

Level 2: Candidates who have passed a three-year degree examination with the same (cognate) subject, from a recognized university, are eligible to apply directly without the MPP requirement.

In short, students from any academic stream can apply for KSOU Distance MA, but those without a matching subject background need to clear the preparatory exam first. 

KSOU MA Admission 2026: Process & Last Date

KSOU runs its admissions in two cycles each year, January and July. For the 2026-27 July cycle, the university has released its admission notification and fee structure through its official admission portal.
